Bathroom upgrades, without a plumber

One roundup from each of the categories that matter most. Each tile shows its top pick and takes you straight to the buy link — you should not have to read three pages to find out what to buy.

The reason this site exists
Every buying guide in this category is written for someone who owns their bathroom. We checked ten of them and not one organized its recommendations around whether you can actually fit the thing. So every product here carries a six-field Renter-Safe Install Rating read from the manufacturer’s own manual: what it drills, what it needs, and whether it comes back off.

Best bidet for renters
Bidets that install and uninstall in minutes, rated on published fittings — for bathrooms you do not own.

Best no-drill shower caddy
Tension, hanging and silicone-grip caddies compared on published materials and warranty — nothing drilled.
Top pick: simplehuman Tension Shower Caddy, 9 ft

Best renter-friendly heater
Plug-in ways to warm a cold bathroom, with running costs in cents and a hard look at bathroom safety ratings.
Top pick: Lasko 8″ Bathroom Ceramic Heater with ALCI Plug
Every buying guide in this category opens by telling you how many showerheads somebody tested. We have not tested any, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
What we do instead: read the manufacturer’s manual, pull the published specs, convert the watts into cents a day and the gallons per minute into gallons a year, and check every price against Amazon rather than remembering one. Where a manufacturer publishes nothing — and several do not publish a wattage, a cord length or even a water temperature — the page says “Not published” instead of filling the gap in.
All of it is checkable. That is rather the point, and it is set out in full in how we research.
Everything on the site is listed on the sitemap, and new guides go out on the Atom feed.

We are an Amazon Associates participant, and Amazon is currently the only network we are part of — so if you see a link here, it is either an Amazon link or it earns us nothing at all. Commission never decides a pick: where the cheaper product is the better one, that is the one at the top.
